Music - Kate Voegele

Alongside films, magazines, books, and TV ads, music plays an important part in the industry of the media. Music has the power to determine a persons mood, be it sad and listening to slow meaningful songs, or happy upbeat and positve songs.
Kate Voegele is an artist whom I have followed for many years now, downloading each and every song she has written and recorded, her music plays a special part when I listen to music. Her voice varies in range, allowing for alto, soprano and tenor where each note hits well with the backing music and the base.
Music is successful in the media world mainly because of the image that has to be created with each artist, the videos that are filmed and recorded as well consistantly attending interviews and being in the spotlight of the media world where they are written about and read about in magazines and film reviews.
I have recently bought tickets to her most local tour 'Gravity Happens' in London.
As Kate Voegele's music is important to me I will continue to support her success within America and the UK believing that music adds to the media industry just as much as other items such as films.

Film Review - 'The Inbetweeners Movie'

With the release date being set for the 17th of August, the nation eargerly awaited the much anticipated film of the year, 'The Inbetweeners Movie'.
I recently saw this film at the local cinema in didcot where nearly each seat was taken. Rated at a successful eight stars out of ten on IMBD it was sure to live up to its expectation. It was funny witty and full of light hearted entertainment.
The film involved four socially troubled teenagers jetting off on an end of year holiday from the south of England, to Crete, where each explored an awakward situation leaving the audience in hysterics.
For those who have seen it, it was clear it followed a basic story line, which for those who have seen the tv series would understand it often lacks a story line, yet in turn kept the film light hearted and fun.
If you need a laugh then 'The Inbetweeners Movie' should be a must see. I really enjoyed it and would watch it again.

Film Review - 'Taken'

With Liam Neeson being one of Hollywoods greatest actors, following through with passion and a love for what he does, this film was a must see.
Although this film was released in 2008, it was recently viewing on Film 4 where I decided to watch it. The complex ways in which Liam Neeson's character goes through to revive his daughter add to the tensity of the film. The films summary includes; "a former spy relies on his old skills to save his estranged daughter, who has been forced into the slave trade after a trip to france turns from fantasy to tragedy."
I particulary liked this film due to the fact that it involves a real life scenario, it opens up our minds to the possibilites that people can enter your world uninvited. The acting from all actors and actresses throughout the film was kept at best standard and the story line itself needs gratitude.
I would watch this film again rating it a good eight out of ten.

Magazine Review - 'Look'

On a regular basis I often buy a magazine, my favourite of which being 'Look' magazine. It has varied news and updates on the popular A-list celebrities whilst also giving you a fresh idea on the weeks particular trend in clothing, hair styles and makeup. Including well known fashion websites and shops to visit online and inside stories on real life dramas.
In this weeks magazine its feautured story revolves around the well known Kate Middleton and how her sudden rise to fame and attention in the spotlight has caused friends and family of her to fear a potential breakdown. The article focus's on her 'lonely and isolated' new life and her 'frantic phonecalls to Pippa' her close sister.
The second main feature of this weeks cover story is Amy Winehouse's sudden and unexpected passing away. The catchline reading 'what she confessed in her final hours'.
This particular magazine is always bright and intent on attracting its readers in which it succeeds. The fashion pieces towards the end of the magazine breaks down the major texts leaving it easier to read and more enjoyable, I particularly like its use of pictures and easy yet attractable layout which helps as a selling point.
I will continue to buy 'Look' magazine as it gives good fashion ideas as well as keeping the readers updated on the latest news, be it breakdowns or a tribute to a recent passing away.
